12.1

How AI and Automated Systems Are Used

Compea employs automated systems and, where applicable, AI-assisted processing to perform the following functions:

  • Generating product rankings and comparison outputs from structured seller data;
  • Producing automated product summaries and feature highlights;
  • Identifying and surfacing differences between comparable products;
  • Detecting anomalies in pricing, stock signals, or seller behaviour;
  • Personalising Platform outputs based on user behavioural data; and
  • Assigning trust scores and performance tier classifications to sellers.

For a detailed, feature-by-feature description of these systems, see our AI Policy.

12.2

What Automated Systems Do Not Do

The Platform's automated systems do not: guarantee the quality, accuracy, or suitability of any product; approve, authorise, or guarantee any transaction; physically verify the condition, safety, or compliance of any product; constitute financial, legal, or professional advice; or replace the user's own informed judgement and due diligence.

12.3

Data Inputs

Automated outputs are generated based on structured product data submitted by sellers, affiliate data feeds, behavioural signals collected from Platform usage, pricing and stock data obtained through automated retrieval, and engagement patterns at aggregate level. The quality and accuracy of automated outputs is dependent on the quality and accuracy of the underlying data. Compea Ltd does not guarantee that data underlying any automated output is complete, current, or error-free.

12.4

Override Mechanisms

Automated system outputs may be overridden, adjusted, or suppressed by Compea Ltd's compliance review processes, fraud detection systems, manual editorial review, or applicable regulatory requirements. Such overrides may occur without notice to the affected seller and do not require justification where made on compliance or fraud prevention grounds.

12.5

User Responsibility

Users should treat all automated outputs - including rankings, badges, summaries, and recommendations - as one source of information among several, not as a definitive or binding assessment. Users must independently verify pricing, product specifications, and seller terms before completing any purchase.
