Trust Score Methodology Disclosure
Compea may assign internal and/or publicly visible trust signals and scores to sellers displayed on the Platform. This Policy discloses the basis on which those signals are generated, their purpose, and their limitations, in the interest of transparency to both users and sellers.

Purpose of Trust Signals
Trust signals are designed to assist users in making faster and more informed decisions by providing a summary assessment of a seller's overall performance on the Platform. They reflect historical data points collected by Compea's monitoring systems and are intended to add an additional layer of information to the user's comparison experience.
Inputs to the Trust Score
A seller's trust score is calculated using a combination of the following inputs, weighted by Compea Ltd's proprietary methodology:
- Pricing consistency between the Platform and the seller's checkout;
- Stock reliability and accuracy of availability indicators;
- Landing page quality and relevance to the originating listing;
- Complaint frequency and resolution signals;
- Return and refund complaint signals;
- Delivery performance indicators;
- User engagement quality, including bounce rates and session depth;
- Seller responsiveness to Compea Ltd's queries and notices; and
- Historical performance across all of the above signals.
Limitations and Disclaimers
Important Limitation
A trust score or trust signal displayed on Compea is a system-generated indicator based on available data. It is NOT a guarantee of product quality, seller reliability, or transactional outcome. It is NOT a certification, endorsement, accreditation, or legal approval of any kind. Users must exercise their own judgement and verify material details independently before making any purchase.
Effect on Seller Visibility
Trust signals may affect a seller's ranking and visibility within comparison outputs, and eligibility for promotional placements. Sellers may request a review of their trust score by contacting info@compea.co.ke with supporting evidence. Compea Ltd will review such requests at its discretion and is not obligated to alter any score or signal as a result of such a request.
